The Mercy Clinic Springdale is a two-story, 63,000-square-foot clinic in Springdale, Arkansas. McCarthy’s VDC team was part of the project from inception to handover. Our team worked with the owner, designer and consultants to co-author a BIM Execution Plan that ensured alignment on process and use of technology throughout the project. 3D modeling was used to coordinate building systems and ensure prefabrication and installation success. Laser scanning was used to validate as-built conditions and drone flights were conducted outside and inside the building to accurately map installation progress relative to the coordination model. This enhanced level of integration and coordination led to a savings of approximately $50,000 in areas of critical importance where we made changes prior to installation. An additional $50,000 was also saved during design due to changes to design elements that would have caused significant rework or delays in construction.
